The lush, heartbreaking vocals of lead singer Anna-Lynne Williams and the simple, graceful, guitar work of guitarist Matt Brown combine to form the core of the band's sound. Described as "alternative-county" and "art-pop", it's no wonder that they've been compared to everything from Patsy Cline to the Cocteau Twins.

I can count the number of female vocalists that I like on one hand. All the music that I love the most is sung by men. I don't know why ! That is just how it is ! BUT I think my favorite vocalist of all time is Anna - Lynne Williams !!! If I were to be stranded on a desert island (yeah I know, there are no players or electricity on desserted islands) and I could only take one voice to listen to it would be the voice of Anna-Lynne Williams !!! Somehow she pulls all the right strings for me. Andy
