Been listening to this album on an old worn out tape for decades so it's a luxury to be able to dive back in the full experience. While still fitting in with the shoegazer scene generally, BMJ managed to stand apart with slippery rollercoaster twists and turns (and of course the lead flute work). Boo Radley fans, particularly of the 1st couple official albums and live shows should give BMJ a listen. jasonk

Originally released in 2006, it was remastered for its 10 year anniversary. It could’ve come out today and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. A mixture of post-punk and emo vocals, tracks like “Sunlit Ascending” soar exactly as much as its name implies — while “Peregrine” and “A Fate Delivered” are an anguished, furious conclusion to an incredible album.
